Dyker Library Presents: Author Talk and Book Discussion: Heart Radical

Anne Liu Kellor is a mixed-race Chinese American writer and teacher based in Seattle. Her critically acclaimed memoir, Heart Radical: A Search for Language, Love, and Belonging, follows Anne’s journey as she travels through China, her mother’s birthplace, wanting to reclaim her mother tongue. Along the way she tries on different roles— seeker, artist, teacher, girlfriend, daughter— ultimately learning to embrace her many layers and identities. Praised by Cheryl Strayed as “insightful, riveting, and beautifully written,” Heart Radical asks us to remember how to speak our truth, and what it means to be fully alive. Please join Anne as she reads from and discusses her book. Heart Radical: A Search for Language, Love, and Belonging is available at the Brooklyn Public Library: https://www.bklynlibrary.org/item?b=12494468

All registrants will receive the Zoom Meeting Invite via email in the afternoon of May 5th, 2022.  Please email questions for the author to yyau@bklynlibrary.org by 3pm on the event date.  Presentation and Q/A starts at 6:30pm.
